Christie Westmann is a Brazilian career strategist and labour market researcher who has spent the last four years studying employment barriers in the Canadian job market. She holds a Master of Education in Equity Studies from Simon Fraser University and, nowadays, shares her findings on what might work and what might not regarding job-search strategies, particularly for those who don’t have their Canadian experience in a qualified position. As an immigrant herself, her work is focused on immigrants’ employment training in Canada, helping them to overcome employment barriers and transition to a high-skilled position.
